Our second wedding anniversary

Nick and I decided to celebrate our second anniversary this year in San Antonio on the Riverwalk. We did it last year for our first...maybe a tradition coming on? Nick had also earned 2 free nights at pretty much any Marriott. And, we also needed someone to watch Ryker, and my parents jumped up and down at the chance to do it. SUPRISED? Ah...NO! I also felt more secure leaving him somewhere when it was so close by...only about 20 minutes away. :) Dropping Ryker off at their house was definitely THE hardest thing I have done in a LONG time, but I didn't let myself cry. I also kept reminding myself to appreciate the chance for some alone time with my husband. It kinda worked. :)

Nick and I went into the weekend with a few loose plans...mainly eating, drinking, and sleeping. Friday night we visited Rosario's (an AWESOME Mexican food place downtown), and we had a great dinner and drinks. It was nice taking my time to get ready. After dinner, we came back to the hotel for awhile...I needed to pump anyway...and after dark, we decided to go on a carriage ride through downtown. It was nice, and Nick nor I had ever done that before. :)
Saturday morning we slept in (as much as a pumping mother can). We headed out for an early lunch along the Riverwalk. We picked The County Line. Delicious! We then went on a river tour cruise after lunch. This was the ONE thing Nick wanted to do last year, but we couldn't because it was raining. It was a nice time, and we both learned things about SA that we didn't know. And, seeing a Michael Jackson impersonator really topped off the whole thing. Once the tour was done, we grabbed some ice cream on the way back to the hotel to meet my mom. My mom and Val came by for a couple hours to let me feed and see our Ryker boy. It was JUST what I needed, and I enjoyed it so much! After an afternoon nap, Nick and I checked out the Madame Toussard's Wax Museum downtown. It wasn't nearly as good as the one we went to in Vegas, but we still enjoyed it and the pics we were able to take while there. There is a scary wax figure area (kinda like a haunted house without the live people), and Nick finally got to see what it's like to take me through a haunted house. He vowed to never take me to one which is fine by me! :) Dinner at Casa Rio followed that...more Mexican food. The margaritas were great at both Mexican places, and I really enjoyed being able to have a couple drinks here and there. I can report that I am a total light weight now. Cheaper date too.

Sunday morning I was up and at 'em! I was SO ready to see our Ry man. After pumping and showering and packing, we were outta the hotel by 8:30. I couldn't wait to see him! As Nick said, I was like a kid on Christmas morning! We brought Bill Miller's breakfast back to my parent's house, and then we spent the day visiting and watching football with mom, dad, and Val. Ryker spent the day in my arms and getting whatever he wanted. :) I LOVED IT!

Overall we had a great anniversary weekend together. I realized that I will NOT be able to leave Ryker again for a LONG time, and I am not going to be more than a few minutes from him at all times for awhile either. Crazy mom talking...I know...but I can't help it. Nick and Ryker are my world, and if I am not making them the happiest boys they can be, then I am just not doing my job as a wife and mother well enough. I am truly blessed in so many ways.
