Valentine's Day 2012

Nick and I got to go out the weekend before Valentine's Day since my parents volunteered to come here to watch Ryker for us. We made plans to go to the shooting range, dinner, and either bowling or to a movie. The movie ended up winning out.

I had a blast at the range! I hadn't been shooting since before I was pregnant I am pretty sure. I shot both 22s and Nick's 9mm. I was really nervous when we first got there since I hadn't shot in a long time, but by the end (as always) I was shooting away. :) It was cold out so we were only there about an hour. For dinner, we decided to be spontaneous and drive around until we agreed on a place to stop. We ended up at a new to us hibachi place here in Katy. It was delicious. Nick ordered some sushi and then he got scallops and steak from the grill. I ordered chicken and steak..as usual. Once we finished dinner we decided on our movie, "Safe House," and headed to AMC Katy Mills. It was packed!!! Theater and movie. Guess that's what happens when you go opening weekend of the movie on a Saturday night before Valentine's day. Oops. It turned out not to be so bad though. We had a wonderful evening. THANKS Mom and Dad for coming here to watch Ryker for us. We needed a night out. Pics from our date:

Sunday my parents gave Ryker his Valentine bag. Here's some pics of him opening it:

The babysitter had to nap before we headed out for the night. :)

He LOVED playing with this balloon!

The cards from the grandmas :)

On Valentine's Day we just hung here at the house. I made one of Nick's favorite dinners, and we all had dinner together. Nick and I exchanged cards, and we gave Ryker his Valentine's bag. Here's some pics of that:

Ryker's 8 months old!

Ryker is 8 months old. I cannot believe how fast he is growing or how fast time is passing. It's SO true when people tell you to enjoy the moments with your little one because they do fly by. REALLY.

Ryker is still into everything, and he's so close to crawling it's driving me crazy. I can't wait until he gets going with that. I say that now, but I'll probably change my mind as soon as it starts. He's pretty much scooting and rolling everywhere now that it's like he is crawling already pretty much anyway. He also just started baby foods with meat in them, and he tried apple juice again this week.

Here's some of the pics from 2-10-12.

Brenda's bridal shower & our weekend in Livingston

The three of us went to visit Beth in Livingston a few weekends ago. Nick and Derek had planned a work weekend, and Ry and I decided to tag along for some of the time. We got in late Thursday night, and the boys spent most of Friday working outside and then just hanging out that night. Beth taught me to make homemade bread, and we did a little shopping that afternoon. Ryker was a good boy except that he had trouble sleeping both nights which made it a couple long days for Nick and I. :( We had a good time, though, and Nick and Ry came back late Saturday night while I drove back that morning to make it back for an appointment and a friend's bridal shower. Enjoy the pics!

One of my pal's here in town, Brenda, had her bridal shower a few weekends ago. Brenda is another Houston re-locatee after meeting her soon-to-be hubby on eHarmony. She moved here about a year after Nick and I, and her and Brock make a great pair. :)

The shower was at her house. It was a lot of fun. Donna, her sister and MOH, along with her bridesmaids and a few friends and family were there. They all went out to Wild West afterwards for her batchlorette party, but I came home since Ryker was acting like he might be getting sick. I only took three pics there...here they are.
