NUTCRACKER MARKET with the MOMS

Last Friday my mom, Beth, Brenda, and I headed down to the Nutcracker Market to do some shopping. The moms were really surprised that it was so HUGE. I had warned them, but I don't think it sunk it until we got there. If you don't know what NM is you should look it up online. It's a HUGE 4 day shopping market down at Reliant Center. It's like the Fredericksberg Country Peddler Show x 10. HUGE. Hundreds of vendors. Despite leaving my credit card at our lunch stop (Olive Garden) and semi-fighting for a parking space, we had a really fun time. We were all exhausted by the time we left, and we were ready to sit down for a long while. Bren was especially tired since she is 38 weeks prego. We all got some goodies, and Brenda got exactly what she went there for so that was nice. I got a very cute casserole dish carrier, some things from the MD Anderson Kids' Art booth, and these amazing Wine-A-Rita mixes. Making a frozen drink with wine. Delicious. I may just start drinking some wine after those. Here's the one pic we got shortly after we got there, and it's blurry. Boo. :(

I am already excited to go back next year!

2012 Pumpkin Patch visit

This year we had plans to visit Dewberry Farms (an amazingly large & popular patch out in Sealy)with a few moms from our MOPS group, but Ryker was sick for a couple weeks. He was right in the middle of a bad ear infection and fever when we were supposed to go. :( I looked into taking him out there again another week day, but it's only open to groups and schools then. I didn't dare try to go on the weekend again. Last year the line was like a 2 hour wait. Yikes.

We already had plans to do a mini session photo shoot (that we won) with our cheery photographer Chelsea at the local church's pumpkin patch (that we went to last year). So that was the only visit we did to a pumpkin patch this year.

Ryker was running around everywhere, and he didn't wanna sit still at all. Definitely a lot different than last year. It was the morning of the first cold front here too, and man it was windy. I think it made him even more frisky. I really wanted to take more candids of him while we were there with my camera, but I only got a few. Nick and I were busy chasing him around and helping Chelsea get her shots of us three and Ryker. We also did a clothing change into his Halloween costume. Beth, my MIL, made his costume again this year. SO CUTE. He is a mouse! He wasn't sure what to do with the pumpkins, and he just wanted to run around. He did play with some of the smaller pumpkins, once we got him going, and he picked up acorns and pinecones. Chels said we got some good shots though so I can't wait to see them. Here's the pics I was able to get of our baby boy...

hALloWeeN 2012

Halloween this year was pretty fun. Ryker was battling allergies, and he wasn't in the best of moods. Ryker was a mouse. My MIL made his costume again, and she did a wonderful job. He was SOOOO cute! Once he got the hat on, he was fine b/c he was so distracted he kinda stopped paying attention. Beth made it out a cotton material this year which was nice too so he wasn't as hot.

He only went to a couple houses on our block to request candy (which Nick and I did for him...kinda). He still isn't saying that many words. Definitely no "trick-or-treat" so maybe next year he can say it. I hope so. He offered an acorn in exchange for candy at the first house we went to, which was so cute, but I missed the whole shot with the camera. I only got half of it. We have decided next year to take him around in his wagon, and we'll go to more houses too.

Our neighbor, Jana, came over for dinner and to pass out candy with us in the driveway. It was much less crowded than last year. We still had a good time though. Enjoy the pics...

Ryker's FIRST haircut :(

Well...we finally did it. I took Ry to get his first haircut last week. He cried the entire time! Poor thing. He really wasn't into it, but he let the lady cut it anyway while he cried. :( It was kinda hard for me to watch, but I knew she had to finish what she started so I was strong. I just kept talking to him and snapping pics. He looked like such a big boy afterward. Here's the pics. I included befores, during, and afters.
