Ryker also had a few firsts in July. He went out in public (other than to his pedi), went on his first walk in the neighborhood, and had tummy time too. He has also been down to the Firethorne lake with mom and dad. He seems to have found his hands at times and has sucked on his thumb, but I think it's been just a coincidence on his part.
The pants he came home from the hospital in...I'd say they are getting too short for him.
I am four weeks old today!

Our baby boy turned one month old on July 10th. We have these cards, thanks to Amy Hollis' mom, that count out every month, up to one year old. We are going to be taking his picture with the corresponding card each month to keep a photographic record of how he's growing. It's really amazing to see them change so much...I have seen a few of these types of pics on Facebook. Also, Maya and Jaylyn came up to visit us on his one month birthday. We really enjoyed seeing and visiting with the gals, and I am very glad that they were both able to meet Ryker before he was a lot older.
It was SO hard to get these pics...he was very wiggly this morning.

Nick went down to South Texas a few weeks ago for his first work trip since Ry was born. Nick asked my mom when he was born if she would come stay with us while he was gone. After much debate...HA HA...she decided she would use some vacation time and come visit with Ryker and I that week. Val came in to visit for a couple days too. It was nice. We went out to lunch both days and did some shopping too. It was so good to get out in the real world for awhile with the baby. My mom and Aunt Val were such a big help to me while we were out and while we were here at the house. I love spending time with them both, and I know Ryker loves them so much already.
Ashley dropped by for a visit...he loved her too!

Nick came home that Thursday evening, and Ryker was glad that Daddy was home (and so was I). The next night and Saturday morning we ran errands with the baby, and we prepared for Beth and Derek & Amy's visit. They all got here on Saturday, and we hung out that night at the house. We spent Sunday morning at the lake with the ZigZag Racers, and the rest of the day was spent here at the house watching the World Cup, playing games, and of course, with the guys grilling. Amy, Beth, and I also did some wedding talking since Amy and Derek got engaged on July 3rd. They are FINALLY gonna take the plunge! CONGRATS to them! Monday we hung with Amy & Derek playing Wii "Price is Right," "Family Feud," and "Press Your Luck" until they had to leave to head back to Dallas. We had so much fun with them. We are planning a trip to Dallas in August to visit A & D along with Nick's Grammy and some other family friends.

A few weekends ago Nick's Dad and step-mom, Julie, along with Nick's younger brother, Michael, flew into Houston for a visit. They arrived Friday afternoon, and we met them out for lunch at Los Coucos. Done with lunch, we all came back to the house, and Nick gave them the tour. Hanging out here all afternoon and talking was nice. The guys headed to HEB for some groceries for a cook-out on Saturday, and Friday night we had dinner at Saltgrass Steak House. Saturday brought hanging out outside with the mister and canopy up (of course) while Nick BBQ'ed for us...go figure. :) It was delicious. After a late lunch, the guys attempted to make it to the shooting range for some target practice, but I-10 was closed a couple exits away from our house making it virtually impossible to get anywhere. The traffic was horrible! Once they were back at the house, we decided to play some board games and order pizza for dinner. The guys did take out the ZigZag Racer once it got cooler outside, and Julie and I had some more time for reading and talking. We did a lot of talking over the weekend...hope Julie didn't mind. I am quite the chatterbox sometimes. They left early Sunday morning for Dallas. They had plans up there. We hope to see them all again soon.

Ryker's month ended with a trip to San Antonio for the weekend. It was his first real road trip, and he did very well on the way down to my parent's place. Friday night we enjoyed a wonderful homemade meal of chicken and dumplings with fried okra (YUM!), and we stayed in and visited with my parents. Saturday morning Aunt Val came in bright and early from San Marcos, and we all had Bill Miller's for breakfast. I was in heaven! :) Dad and Nick decided to go catch a showing of "Captain America" while us girls and Ryker stayed back at the house to get ready for the evening's get together. My mom graciously hosted a dinner at her home for family and friends to come meet Ryker. We had a great turn out. It was so much fun introducing him to everyone, and I think he enjoyed all the holding and cuddling. On Sunday Nick and I headed out to see the newest and last Harry Potter movie. It was the first time we left Ry alone with someone other than Mommie or Daddy. We were only gone about 3 hours, but it seemed like forever at times. I was glad that we got in some quality time together, and who better to watch Ryker than his Mamaw, Papaw, and Auntie Val. He loved it! Enjoy pics from the week before and after (here at home) and the weekend in SA...
Daddy tried the Baby Bjorn again!
He loves sitting like this!
Ryker and I attended a baby shower for one of my co-workers' daughters. It was at La Madeline here in Katy. The next few pics are from that night...
