A few weekends ago we headed up to Dallas to visit with Nick's family and friends for the first time since Ryker was born. We headed out Friday morning after dropping the dogs off at their new kennel, Circle Lake Ranch, and we stopped only once along the way...at Bucee's of course. Nick's always gotta stop there. :) Plus, Derek put in a request for jerky this time. We checked in at the hotel, and we hung there for awhile. Ryker was hungry after all that traveling. The hotel was really nice, and it is right across the street from Amy and Derek's apartment which works out so well. It'll be even nicer when it cools off outside...we can walk to so many things around there. Nick, Ry, and I then headed over to Nicks' grandma's house for a visit. We introduced Grammy, Debbie, Amber, and Austin to Ryker. I think Grammy really enjoyed meeting our little guy. Here's some pics from our visit there.
We made plans to all go out to dinner at Red Lobster after out visit. Derek and Amy met up with us. Our plans, however, didn't work out, and we decided to meet them all for lunch at R.L. on Sunday. That's Grammy's fav restaurant. After having dinner at Tin Star with A & D we went back to their apartment and hung out for a couple hours. We did a lot of talking, a little drinking, and enjoyed some dessert.
Saturday morning the three of us met up with Derek for breakfast in his neighborhood. Amy was working...boo! :( We went to Top Golf afterwards, a place that combines bowling, golf, and darts. It was like nothing I have ever seen. The guys were really excited about it. It's the one thing Nick REALLY wanted to do this visit. We watched them for a bit, and then Ryker and I left to do a little shopping, and we went back to pick up the guys. Then it was on to In 'N' Out Burger. It was SO crazy at that place...even after being open for 3 months already. Lunch was really good, and then we went back to the hotel for some rest time before meeting up for dinner.
For dinner that night we met up at Main Street Bistro with Amy & Derek, the Kousers, and the Byrds. It was very nice to see them all, and after dinner, we headed over to The Byrd Nest (as they call it) for some visiting and entertainment. :) Drinks, pinball, and chillin' were on the agenda, and once we got Ryker and Chloe to sleep, it was game time. We had so much fun, and I wish we could have stayed longer. Amy wasn't feellng too well, and I needed to get back to the hotel to pump. THANKS so much for having us over...can't wait to do it again!
We checked out of the hotel by 10 Sunday morning, and Nick and I did a little shopping before meeting up at Red Lobster for lunch with everyone. We really enjoyed seeing the Grammy clan again before we headed back to Houston. On the way back home, we stopped in Dew, Texas so I could visit my Papaw's grave. It's right off of 45...we discovered this a couple years ago. I stop there on the way back from Dallas everytime now. I wanted Ryker to get out with me, but it was just TOO hot. I left him some flowers, and then we continued our trip back home. Parker and Dory were so glad to see us when we picked them up. All in all, it was a great weekend!
